You have probably heard of Bangor, Maine. But what about Bangor, Pennsylvania?
To get there, one heads north of Philadelphia, and then north and east of Bethlehem, stay west of the Delaware River, Pennsylvania's border with New Jersey to find this small town, once famous for its slate mines, which are now, for the most part dormant. The population of Bangor, hovers around 5,000, a figure that has remained more or less constant for the last century.
Terri Palmer is an artist who lives on a small farm, a couple of miles as the crow flies from Bangor, in the middle of Lehigh Valley, along with her husband. She draws her inspiration from the farm animals, the perennial gardens, and a pet pig named Dahlia and friends.
